Creative Idea – Mercury Glass

I get the Richmond Magazine R Home addition. They have many DIY articles that are very creative and interesting. This month I found an article on ‘Poor man’s silver” by Karen Guard. How about adding some sparkle and glitz to your home décor! Mercury glass pieces have a touch of mystery which will add character to your home.
Mercury glass, or “silvered glass, was first made in the 1840s in the Czech Republic. It was known as “poor man’s silver” and was created as a silver substitute.
In the May-June 2013 issue – Richmond Magazine’s R home – Ms. Guard has instructions for this simple project to make your own “Poor man’s silver.”
